Legal Assistant

Essential Functions

Perform legal work relating to funds and clients assets managed by Portland Investment Counsel Inc. (“Portland”).

  • Organize and send out documents, receive executed documents, and maintain filing systems.
  • Prepare corporate documents and instruments and input corporation details into corporate databases.
  • Assist in closing out corporate records and preparing correspondence.
  • Draft basic legal documents, including resolutions, certificates etc.
  • Manage diarizing of future events and follow-ups.
  • Maintain minute books and physical files, ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Assist in special projects as needed, such as preparing organizational charts and corporate profiles.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma – Legal Assistant an asset

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Corporate Law experience.
