NCB Financial Group, an affiliate company is currently looking for a:

Head of Transaction Banking

This is a contract position for NCBFG, Kingston, Jamaica. Residency in Jamaica is not required; however, frequent travel is necessary.

The role holder is expected to lead and implement Transaction banking strategy aligned to NCB strategy related to (i) Operating and performance management model, (ii) Incentive scheme & performance KPIs and (iii) Structuring robust value proposition for high potential products TB head will be part of the Corporate and Commercial Banking unit, consisting of 20+ people, and is uniquely positioned as the most relevant Corporate unit of Jamaica with +40% of market share

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive Transaction banking commercial team composed of product specialists to reach financial targets
  • Translate the NCB direction into a TB execution strategy to reach aggressive growth, to drive share of Transaction banking revenue in total Corporate and Commercial banking revenue to 50%
  • Product and systems development – ensure that the Bank builds and maintains a compelling proposition for Transaction banking with a starting point of 30+ transaction banking products currently offered
  • Ensure tight profitability management by product with full accountability for Transaction banking financial results
  • Collaborate with other product areas to build new product solutions and go-to-market approach
  • Collaborate with Regulatory, Financial Compliance and Risk Management teams to manage internal and external legal & compliance requirements
  • Coach and mentor junior team members

Key skills:

Transaction banking experience & skillset
  • More than 10 years of experience in banking and / or treasury function, ideally with previous experience in trade finance, cash management, payments and liquidity solutions (knowledge of Transaction banking in the context of nascent markets is an advantage)
  • Proven track record of improving product penetration with corporate and commercial clients
Leadership and managerial experience & skillset
  • Demonstrated clear and effective leadership from the outset, and ability to form and lead a cohesive team
  • Strong management skills, complemented by experience, collaboration, influence, a desire and an appetite to challenge and effect sustainable change (Experience in transformation / change management is an advantage)
  • Strong personal and relationship building skills to navigate internal stakeholders and complex client relationships
  • Comfort with making decisions in ambiguous scenarios, sometimes with lack of full of information
